“Moonlighting helps thousands of people in the independent workforce community throughout the year and we are committed to helping them during this incredibly challenging time,” said Tennery. “In addition to convening this valuable forum on working during COVID-19, we also announced last week that until further notice we’re providing independent workers with free access to our job listings platform and business management tools to help during this changing economy.”

The Local Media Consortium, a strategic alliance of leading local media companies, agreed to co-sponsor the event given its member companies also have a strong working relationship with the independent workforce community, especially freelance writers and journalists, producers, editors, and photographers.

“Providing thought-leadership to our members is a hallmark of the Local Media Consortium,” said Fran Wills, CEO of the LMC. “With the coronavirus poised to upturn nearly every industry and its workforce, we are pleased to be able to help facilitate and convene a meaningful community conversation and discussion with independent workforce experts during this uncertain time.”
